Account deletion

You may delete your BlueBerry account and associated data at any time. This page describes both the in-app and email-based paths, and what happens to your data once a request is made.
In-app deletion
- Open BlueBerry and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Confirm the prompt.
- Your account is queued for deletion immediately.
Email-based deletion
If you can no longer access the app, send a deletion request to support@humanitas.co.za from the email address associated with your account. Include:
- The email address registered to the account
- The approximate date you created the account, if known
We may ask one or two clarifying questions to verify your identity before proceeding.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we remove:
- Your profile, login credentials, and contact details
- Notes, screenings, and other practice data you created in the app
- Personalisation, preferences, and device tokens
What we may retain
We retain a minimal record of the deletion event itself (timestamp, account identifier hash) for [TO CONFIRM: retention period — typical 12–24 months] to defend against fraud, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. This record contains no practice data.
Anonymised, aggregated metrics (e.g. “how many screenings were completed in March 2026”) that contain no personal identifiers may be retained for product analytics. These cannot be re-associated with your account.

You will receive an email confirmation once deletion is complete.
Data you control directly
If you would prefer to export your data before deletion, contact support@humanitas.co.za and we will provide a portable copy within [TO CONFIRM: 30 days], in line with POPIA and GDPR data-portability rights.
